WaveWorks SCADA

WaveWorks SCADA manages recipes and production data for every machine on the line in one place, and automates equipment operation centrally. When a machine finishes production, it instructs the next process to start feeding, and it analyzes the production data built up at each process to trace manufacturing quality. LINKER handles communication with the machines.

Key benefits

Run the whole line from one place

Recipes and operating conditions once adjusted machine by machine are managed and sent down centrally.

Link process to process automatically

When a machine finishes production, SCADA instructs the next process to start feeding. The wait while people checked and gave instructions is gone.

Automate product changeover

When the MES work order changes, the matching recipe goes into every machine on the line in order, and values are read back to confirm they match.

Trace quality back to the process

Production data from each process is tied to the LOT, so when a defect appears you find in which process and under which conditions it arose.

Who uses it

Engineering · quality · operations share one central screen

Process · production engineers

Create and approve standard recipes per product. Compare production data and adopt the conditions that gave good quality as the standard.

Quality staff

Trace back the process history of a defective LOT. Find which process and which condition caused the problem, and check LOTs made under the same conditions too.

Line operators

See the whole line status, process progress and alarms on the central screen. Nobody walks between processes to instruct feeding or enter values.

Functions

Recipes, process linking and quality tracing, centrally

01

Central recipe management

Manage recipes for every machine on the line by product · machine · process in one place. Up to 32 setpoints per process, with version and approval history kept.

02

Process linking · feed command

When a machine in the previous process finishes production, SCADA instructs the machine in the next process to start feeding. If the next machine is not ready, it waits and then instructs, and every instruction is recorded.

03

Auto changeover

When the MES work order changes, the matching recipe is sent down to every machine on the line in order, and PLC values are read back to confirm they match. Only failed machines are resent.

04

Production data analysis

Overlay production data built up at each process, such as temperature · speed · flow, with quality inspection results by LOT, and find the conditions that affected quality.

05

Process quality tracing

Each LOT keeps the machines it went through, the recipe version and production data by process. When a defect appears, trace back in which process and under which conditions it arose.

06

Line monitoring · multilingual

See tank levels, machine status and alarms for 11 process zones on a central screen. Supports Korean · English · local language screens and per-menu permissions.

Screens

See the central operation screens

Screen 1 · tank levels, machine status, aging racks, alarms

Line overview

See the whole line on one central screen: tank levels, machines running · cleaning · stopped, and any machine with a problem, at a glance.

  • 11 process zones
  • 1–5 s refresh
  • Alarms
Use cases

How it is used on the line

Three changeovers a day

Just change the work order and every machine on the line switches to the new product conditions. Less setup time and fewer input errors.

Cut waits between processes

As soon as one process finishes, the next process starts feeding. The waiting time while people checked and gave instructions is gone.

Defective LOT tracing

When outgoing inspection finds a defect, trace back the processes and conditions that LOT went through, and group the LOTs made under the same conditions to check them together.

Setting up new products

Compare process data and quality results of trial LOTs to find the best conditions, and register them as the standard recipe as is.

Overseas plants

Send standard recipes approved at headquarters straight to overseas lines, with local screens in the local language.

Use-case scenarios

MES plans, SCADA runs, LINKER communicates

Add products one at a time as needed, and expand like this.

MES + SCADA + LINKER
  1. MES MES issues the work order.
  2. SCADA SCADA handles recipe application and process linking.
  3. LINKER LINKER communicates with the machines.
SCADA + ECHO AI
  1. SCADA Pulls up the process history of the defective LOT.
  2. ECHO AI AI finds conditions that differ from good LOTs.
  3. The person in charge reviews and acts.
SCADA + LinkerFlow
  1. SCADA Collects line status.
  2. LinkerFlow Shown on floor dashboards.
  3. Managers see it from anywhere.

Deployment model

After confirming the target line and machines, recipes per product and quality indicators, we apply it in the order of connection · screen setup · process linking verification.

Roles

MES decides what to make and how much, SCADA decides under which conditions and in which order the machines run, and LINKER handles communication with the machines.

Equipment connection

Connects through LINKER to the PLCs you already use, such as MELSEC · Modbus · OPC UA · MQTT. No equipment changes.

MES · quality link

Receives work orders and quality inspection results, links them to recipes and LOT history, and keeps a processing log.

FAQ

FAQ

How is it different from LINKER?

LINKER is the layer that communicates with machines to exchange data. SCADA sits on top of it as the central operation system handling recipes · process linking · quality tracing for the whole line.

How is the work split with MES?

MES decides what to make and how much (work orders · results); SCADA decides under which conditions and in which order the machines run (recipes · process linking). The two are connected by work orders and LOTs.

How does process linking work?

When a machine in the previous process sends a production-complete signal, SCADA instructs the machine in the next process to start feeding. If the next machine is not ready, it waits and then instructs, and every instruction is recorded.

How far does quality tracing go?

Each LOT keeps the machines it went through, the recipe version and production data by process. When a defect appears, you find in which process and under which conditions it arose, and which LOTs were made under the same conditions.

Does it work with our existing PLCs?

Yes. LINKER connects via MELSEC · Modbus · OPC UA · MQTT and more, so you do not change your equipment.
